Existing powerline adapters only use two of the three possible lines. SmartLink also uses the earth (ground) for data transfer for the first time and can therefore use the full potential of the mains. The considerable speed up to 600Mbit also increases the speed of transmission.

The powerline delivers as much as 30W Poe and thus can even drive a PTZ!
