For recording the images of IP cameras, nothing beats a 'dedicated' NVR which stores all images neatly without you having to worry about it. Connecting them also becomes a lot easier. The IP cameras do not need to be connected to your router. This 32-channel NVR includes 16 POE ports to which 16 cameras can be directly connected. The NVR also provides power to these 16 cameras via the same cable. This is what the abbreviation POE stands for (Power Over Ethernet). You can also connect a monitor or TV (HDMI) to this top-of-the-range recorder. There is no PC needed to see the images. There is also a mouse to operate everything comfortably.
And because this box is still connected to your network, you can also view the images on your laptop, tablet or smartphone. And that also works perfectly if you are out and about via the internet. The apps for your Smartphone are free to download and free to use (apart from your data bundle and telecom provider costs).
This NVR recorder is made by Dahua. Dahua is an A-brand, which is reflected in the reliability and proper functioning of the device itself and the accompanying free software. You can connect 32 cameras, 16 via the POE ports and 16 via your router or switch.
A strong point of this recorder is the built-in POE switch. The required power for the IP cameras is then also supplied through the network cables to the camera. The cameras must, of course, also be POE-capable. The built-in switch reduces the load on your own network. Of course, you can also connect cameras to the existing network or connect cameras at other locations to the recorder. For example, a head office and several branch offices can all be connected to the recorder.
Our conclusion on this recorder: Excellent device. Works well with the iDMSS app (iPhone) or dDMSS for Android smartphones.
